Mahón or Ciutadella?
Menorca has two ferry destinations on opposite sides of the island. Mahón (Maó) serves the east and Ciutadella the west. Ferries to Ciutadella use Son Blanc commercial port, outside the historic harbour in the old town. The photograph with sailing boats and restaurants therefore does not show the ferry terminal.
Start with the location of your accommodation, then compare the available departures. A seemingly faster sea crossing may lose its advantage if you still need to cross the island after arriving.
From mainland Spain
Barcelona to Menorca
Barcelona has two separate port pairs. Barcelona-Mahón runs to the east and is served by Trasmed and GNV. Barcelona-Ciutadella runs to the west and is operated by Baleària. Departure times, vessels, crossing times, cabins and stops can vary by sailing.
Valencia to Menorca
Valencia-Mahón connects Spain's east coast with eastern Menorca. It is not available on every date, and the itinerary may include a stop. Always use the details for the specific timetable entry.
From France
Toulon-Ciutadella directly connects France with Menorca and is operated seasonally by Corsica Ferries. Check availability, the itinerary, vehicle space and onboard accommodation together for your date, a general indication of the season is no substitute for a bookable departure.
Mallorca to Menorca

A same-day return is only practical if two suitable departures are available on the same date. Allow for both check-ins and enough extra time before treating the journey as a day trip.
