What you need to know about the crossing

Table of Contents

Getting to the terminal

Baleària operates from the large Port of Barcelona. Your ticket and booking confirmation will state the terminal; check it again immediately before travelling to the port. If you are driving, follow the port signs from the Ronda Litoral and allow extra time for access and checks.

Check-in

For Baleària, arrive at least 90 minutes before departure with a vehicle or at least 60 minutes before departure on foot. Once you have selected a sailing, the check-in deadline on your booking applies. Bring a valid photo ID and your boarding pass.

Provide the full vehicle type and dimensions. Roof boxes, racks, trailers and other attachments count towards its actual length or height.

On board

Onboard facilities depend on the vessel. Seating classes, cabins, food and drink, and pet areas are therefore only part of your journey if they are offered for your selected departure. A cabin may be useful on a longer or overnight sailing, while a seat may be enough for a shorter daytime crossing.

Vehicles, bicycles and pets

A car, motorcycle, motorhome or bicycle is only confirmed on departures that offer the relevant option. Pets must be added to the booking; their accommodation depends on the vessel and selected option. Do not rely on one general rule for the entire route.

Arrival and onward travel

The ferry docks at Son Blanc commercial port. The historic harbour lined with restaurants and leisure boats is separate. Set your navigation, pick-up and onward journey for Son Blanc, and take its location in western Menorca into account when choosing your accommodation.

Tickets and fares

The starting fare is loaded live from the RouteApi. The total price depends on the travel date, passengers, vehicle, accommodation and fare. Compare the actual crossing time and fare conditions as well as the price; cancellations and amendments are governed by the selected option.
