About Menorca Lines
Menorca Lines is the newest ferry line on the Menorca route. In 2022, the Insotel Marine Group (IMG) launched the line between Alcúdia on Mallorca and Ciutadella on Menorca under this brand - a local fast-ferry service for passengers and vehicles. IMG is the maritime arm of the Ibiza-based Insotel Group; it also owns Trasmapi, which has sailed between Ibiza and Formentera for fifty years, and Formentera Lines, plus stakes in marinas such as Marina Palma and Marina Port Mahón.
Ships
Menorca Lines operates the fast ferry Som Menorca. According to Direct Ferries, the line's fast ferries carry around 400 passengers and 65 vehicles and cover the Alcúdia-Ciutadella crossing in around an hour and a quarter; on board there's seating in several areas and an upper deck with sea views. You'll see which ship is sailing your chosen departure once you pick a travel date.
Route to Menorca
Alcúdia-Ciutadella is Menorca Lines' only route: from the commercial quay in Alcúdia in northern Mallorca to the Son Blanc port in Ciutadella in western Menorca. Baleària also sails this route, and Corsica Ferries in season; duration, time of day and vehicle capacity vary by departure, so compare the specific crossing. For eastern Menorca, the routes to Mahón are the alternative.

With a boarding card you need to be at the terminal 30 minutes before departure on foot and 60 minutes with a vehicle; without a boarding card, allow one hour or more. Complete online check-in in advance at checkin.menorcalines.com. Ticket sales and boarding run through the Estación Marítima in Alcúdia and in Ciutadella. Cars, vans, motorbikes over 125cc, scooters, bicycles, caravans and motorhomes travel on board; hire cars too, if the rental company allows the crossing.
Pets travel free of charge. You'll need a microchip, a valid rabies vaccination for pets over three months old, and a pet passport with owner details and vaccination records. Menorca Lines offers two fares: Basic can't be cancelled, only the travel date changed; Flexible can be cancelled with some restrictions - for a small fee up to seven days before departure, and a larger deduction up to 48 hours ahead.
